Let me introduce myself - my name is Poppy and i am a fully Qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, with a BSc Hons degree in Equine Sport Science and a PgDip (Postgraduate degree) in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I am also a fully insured member of the Institute of registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP) where part of the criteria to be a member is keeping up to date with the latest professional developments and research by attending regular CPD courses to further our learning - making sure we give the very best care on offer!

What is a Veterinary Physiotherapist's Goal?

Veterinary Physiotherapy - many people aren't sure what a physiotherapist's role may be in their animals life or performance journey, so simply put our aim is to improve physical function, maximise performance, and improve the animals quality of life.

The process involves visual assessment and palpation (hands on) assessment of the animals current range of motion, overall health and any injured, diseased or deformed structures, and also in depth discussion of  the animals history, lifestyle and goals. This information is used to design a bespoke treatment programme on both the day and a plan for the course of weeks/ months to follow to restore or enhance movement/performance and optimise healing. We ensure the Animals welfare and dignity is considered throughout our treatments and use a multimodal approach including Electrotherapy's, Manual techniques and targeted Exercise Prescription.

After each appointment you will receive a report of our findings, treatment method on the day and also recommended exercises / helpful tips ("Homework").
